Saying Goodbye to CA

10 Days and Counting...till we head back to St. Louis for Jon's final year at the seminary. While we are excited to be near family and friends again, we are certainly going to miss the warm CA sun, our ministries, and our new friends.

Lani's sister, Lora, came a few weeks ago to help us pack since Lani is pregnant with swollen everything thanks to the extreme Vacaville-valley heat. We've been making sure to mix business and pleasure a little bit. We think she loves CA...and living with us. :)

Really...she was having fun being held hostage with the packing tape! :)

Here's what she REALLY loves about her time out here, though:

It has been a blessing to have her here to help! :) Thanks, Lora! We love you!!

Our cats are not quite sure what to think about all of the commotion, not to mention mom's moving belly. Here's what they've been up to:

We can't figure out if Bug is refusing to move or willingly packing himself away so he can avoid the long flight back to St. Louis...

Rev knows what's up. He's pretty much ok with moving back to St. Louis now that he's a much mellower fellow!

And Lynx...well, we just can't get her to sit still long enough to take her picture! She's the classic skitso-kitty!

So July 12th Jon's parents are flying out to help us finish packing. July 16th Jon's mom, Lani , Lora, and the kitties will fly to Milwaukee and then drive Jon's parents' car to St. Louis. Jon and his dad are braving the elements and driving the 5-day trip cross country with the 26-foot truck with the car trailer behind them.

We're excited to get back together with our "gang" of friends from the seminary. Matt and Meghan's little boy is almost a little man already, and our friend Brett just got engaged over the weekend, so we have a lot of catching up to do! (Congratulations, Brett!) We'll be sad not to live so close to Aaron and Gretchen, but glad to have everyone over for a BBQ/Grill-out at our house as soon as we can.

Must get back to packing.
